Four missing as boat capsizes in Delta


4 individuals have been confirmed to be lacking following a ship accident that occurred on the waterways of the Benin River within the Warri North Native Authorities Space of Delta State.

The performing Police Public Relations Officer within the state, ASP Chucks Orisewezie, confirmed the incident to journalists on Sunday in Warri.

Orisewezie mentioned, “A ship conveying 22 individuals, which left the Ebrohimi neighborhood and was headed for Koko, capsized within the Ureju neighborhood round 1.20pm
The occupants of the boat had been three policemen and 19 neighborhood folks.

“Eighteen individuals, together with the three policemen, have been rescued, whereas the search continues to be on for the remaining 4 lacking individuals.

“Two of the rescued victims have been taken to the hospital for medical care.
